Fast Fingers 22: the fingerboard world championship in Bavaria
In even years, the fingerboard world gathers in Germany. Fast Fingers 22, the 22nd edition of the world championship, took place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Schwarzenbach an der Saale, Bavaria.
The event is organized by Blackriver, which has run it since 1999. It takes place in person in even years and goes online in odd years. This edition was held at Blackriver's headquarters.
The program included a contest for the 2026 fingerboard world champion title, prize money for the podiums, open sessions, judged runs, and battles between pros, experienced riders and amateurs. Entry cost 50 euros for participants, and judges could also register.
The fingerboard.fr page even offers practical tips: the nearest airport is Nuremberg, about 2 hours by car, followed by Prague (2 h 30) and Munich (3 h 30). From Paris it takes about 10 hours by car, and 7 hours from Strasbourg.
I find it fascinating that a competition has kept the same format for more than a quarter century. For official information, the site points to fast-fingers.com and the Instagram accounts @fastfingers_22 and @blackriver_official.
